Cash Four launches The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride's online sales channel.

Cash Four has implemented a shop for GYBR to allow them to take bookings for the ride and orders for DVDs and t-shirts etc online! We've done a couple of other clever things for GYBR too...

Last year the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride, or GYBR as it is lovingly referred to, while very well organised (by John Taylorson) was something of an administrative nightmare being very labour intensive, lots of manual checking and dealing with the public required to make things happen behind the scenes. Then there was the mountain of paperwork and massive postage costs incurred just to get the ride 'on the road' i.e. 2000 people needing to be written to with paper forms for them to complete and post back... then there's the paper receipts that are sent out to all the people that collected money... and reminders to those that didn't... that's got to be about a tree's worth!

So what we did was to work with John to understand the processes that he goes through each year to organise the ride (and why!), what information / reporting he needs from the system and explored ways that we could:
a) save him time e.g. by reducing manual entry of data
b) save him money e.g. by reducing postage
c) do things a bit smarter e.g. by generating reports that help him
d) enhance the experience of the site's users e.g. not only can riders book their place on the ride online and buy products online they can also interact with each other on the GYBR forum!
e) make the process a bit greener... remember that tree I mentioned.
